Total Drek

Or, the thoughts of several frustrated intellectuals on Sociology, Gaming, Science, Politics, Science Fiction, Religion, and whatever the hell else strikes their fancy. Ranting and Raving...

I often disagree with what the Raving Atheist has to say, but today's edition is worth reading if only for the following comment on voter turnout:

The Squad also responds to mail about a less important matter: the national election. A reader is concerned that his family, consisting of Democrats and Republics, is being torn apart by politics. The Squad responds that God, like Dan Rather, is non-partisan, and “[i]t is our ability to take the best ideas from both parties and form them into a national consensus that constitutes the enduring vibrancy of our democracy.” So what are the “best ideas” that should be extracted, that the family should form a consensus on? They don’t say. In fact, all that matters is that you vote, and enter the voting booth barking like a moonbat:

We're happy you have this problem in your family. We prefer to see an excess rather than a dearth of political passion. Wouldn't you rather have a passionately informed, politically engaged family than one of the more than 150 million Americans who don't vote and don't care?

Actually, I’d prefer that the skin-heads stay home no matter how excitable they are.

Not to be missed.
