Silver lining, anybody?

It's 5 AM here on the east coast. The election will come down to Ohio, where Bush has a 100,000-ish vote lead, but it could be 11 days until all the ballots are counted. Kerry would have to win nearly every provisional ballot in Ohio to win the election. So if Kerry loses 11 days from now, he'll look like a sore loser.

Furthermore, Bush gets a 51-49 majority in the popular vote, the Republicans pick up 4 seats in the Senate, and exit polls show that "moral values" were the number one issue among voters.

It looks like the election turned out about as bad as it could have. Can someone find a silver lining in all this, please?

No silver lining, sorry. As far as "moral values" are concerned, what were people thinking?! Were they? God help us. We need a friggin miracle.

Al Franken found one small silver-ish bit: Nader didn't swing any states. That's it. That's all we get. That we weren't even robbed; the majority of the people around us actually voted for Bush.
